Consumable Products

When you do your grocery, what is the first thing you check when you grab any consumable product from the shelf? I would say... EXPIRATION DATE, right?Absolutely!

There are 3 different types of Code Date... OPEN, CLOSE and NONE. Open dated products has Exp. dates like "Best By/Before month-day-year" or "month-day-year"... these dates are obvious dates. On Close dated products you will find alphanumeric print on the selling unit. Some are like "MV05FO9" (this is just a sample) but you really can't tell if it is an Exp. Date or Manufactured Date, or it could be just a Batch Code or something else. The last type is None... meaning No Exp. Date at all.

Majority of my accounts at work are consumable products and we are very strict on Exp. Dates. And I am most concern on Close Dated product. Manufacturer are the only people that can identify what the Close dates stands for. And every manafucaturer have their own formats by the way. So, like us consumer... how would we know that Close Dated products are still good? You think the distributors or store can tell you? You think they dispose them when it expires? of course not. So what can we do? Wake every single consumer... our friends, family and office mates... wake them up, let them be aware. Maybe through this, we can reach the Food Authority.

MAKE IT A LAW... CONSUMABLE PRODUCTS MUST BE OPEN DATED... NO MORE TO CLOSE... NO MORE TO NONE... AND LET US SAVE OUR HEALTH.
